Sunday; March 23rd

9:04AM: I haven’t called the hospital for an update on my mom. But this week has been a bit crazy.

6:50 PM: I spoke to my mom on her phone tonight and they did a EKG to check why she’s having so much heartburn. They are speaking of her moving up to a regular floor but she is doing quite better now 

8:30 PM: Making a late dinner of Spaghetti and meatballs with Garlic Bread. 

Monday; March 25

An Caramel Latte with Cold Foam

This Monday I woke up at 7:00AM EST, I walked outside to around 6 ins of snow. My sibling has to head out to work so it’s just Lil Eve & I home. I got some cleaning to do before my Mama possible gets home today. 

It’s around 10:30 and so far I got the fridge done and that trash ready to be taken out. I got some of the dishes in the dishwasher going. 

It’s 2:44PM CST; and I got some of the kitchen done as it was a complete mess

Tuesday; March 26th

Woke up to our Power out on the apartment at around 5AM EST. At 7:53AM my power was restored and I was finally able to get some coffee. 

I finally got my long hair under control and all the knots out. It feels so nice to have it down again.

Mom is set to be released from the hospital tomorrow sometime. 

It’s around 8:30 and this evening was quite a mess. I didn’t realize I was supposed to go help mom tonight and she was a bit upset with me. I’ll be going tomorrow to help her place her CGM & Pump. 

Wednesday; March 27th

This Wednesdayhas been pretty crazy and I woke up quite tired. Lil eve woke up at like 1PM EST. We thought mom would come tonight that did not happen.she is quite upset about not coming name to us. 

Thursday; March 28th

This Thursday my sibling headed to work and it’s another day of  just Lil Eve & I. So I am starting my day with my Hazelnut Iced Coffee with Caramel Cold Foam. 

I headed into Therapy appointment for 12:30 which is done via Telehealth. I def know I need this session right now with everything going on. The meeting with my therapist went very well and def a need of mine 

Lil Eve had a very simple PB&J sandwich for lunch shaped as a butterfly which she loves. 

Friday; March 29th

This Friday Grandma is home so we went and dropped my sibling at work. We then took Lil Eve out for breakfast. She was so happy to spend time with her Grandma. We then ran and got some of our groceries from Walmart & Meijer. 

Lil Eve had Reese’s before her appointment.

Lil Eve had an appointment with the ENT (Ears, Nose, & Throat) specialist due to hearing impairment. She will have tubes placed for the fluid due to her ears retaining it.

We got some great news from her specialist and her right ear is back to normal and she can hear out of it. Her left ear still has fluid in it and some impairment. We have an hearing test in 3 months to see if it returned to normal.

We took Lil Eve to her favorite buffet to eat dinner after her appointment. Then went to finish our grocery shopping. 

Saturday; March 30th

On this Saturday we just prepped for Easter tomorrow by making sure Lil Eve’s Basket was complete. We made sure it was really special seeing grandma was in the hospital most of the week and she missed majority of spring break. Lil Eve returns to school on Tuesday April 2nd.

Birthday Week | March 17th - 23rd

 Sunday; March 17th

I

This Sunday we woke up to it snowing. My 2-3 page assignment is due tonight and I do still plan to see my mom. Due to weather it’s 12:30 EST and I still haven’t made it to go visit my mama like planned today. This current weather is not helping us. 

Getting ahold of someone at the hospital today is very difficult and my mom not having her phone due to a bad charger is harder. It seems she won’t be out till my birthday but hopefully before. 

We had Honey Chicken & Chicken Fried Rice for dinner. It’s been a crazy quiet day for us. 

It’s 6:48PM EST, and I finally heard from my Mama. She will be released from the hospital some time tomorrow night. She is pretty excited to go shopping at some point this week. 

I spent the end of the night having a shamrock shake and working on my assignment for class

Monday; March 18th

This Monday was quite cold as we waited for Lil Eve’s Bus to come to start her week. I am still quite tired as at some time last night she ended up in mama’s bed. 

This Monday task is the reset my Living Room which includes our table. Then I ran to the store to get Lil One Pull Ups and us some creamer

I went to visit my mom at around 1:30PM EST to discuss her release and our plans. It was so nice to actually see her. She is set to be released 03/19 at around 5PM EST.

Tuesday; March 19th

This Tuesday has been quite a busy day. I was sitting in my mom’s hospital room for hours before they removed her Perm Cath so she would be able to go home this evening. Then running home (literally) so I can Lil Eve off the bus. 

Wednesday; March 20th

This Wednesday the weather was insane. It’s heavy winds and blowing snow but Lil Eve still had school. It’s crazy what kind of weather these buses can get through up here.

Thursday; March 21 [My 32nd Birthday]

This Thursday is Lil Eve’s last day of school before spring break. She was quite excited to leave for her day. My mom and I have training on her cycles before celebrating my birthday.

We are at the Clinic doing some training my the Cycler so my mama would be able do her treatments while she is sleeping. I feel this will keep her extra fluid weight down while she is home. 

I was taken out to Lunch at Applebees [sorry no photos from Lunch], and gifted this pretty flower arraignment. 

My gift to myself was this IPad, so I have more organization and such. As well as more room to share my art. 

The gift from my Mom & Sibling was this Apple Pencil so I can do art on my IPad.

Friday; March 22nd

Lil Eve went with my sibling to work today as my mama and I went to finish training on her machine. We will officially be having the machine home with us full time tonight. 

At around 9:30PM EST, my mama was taken by ambulance to the hospital. She was in a diabetic emergency which I suspect is DKA. Thankfully Lil Eve was sleeping tight in her bed while it was all happening.

Saturday; March 23rd

When my mom was admitted into the ICU last night (March 22nd), her sugar levels was hitting 1300. When I spoke to her nurse today, she said it was down to 800 this Morning. She was def in a diabetic emergency when I called. 

Lil Eve and I dyed Easter Eggs this evening and she enjoyed being creative. 

I spoke with my mom’s nurse before I headed to bed and she was taken off the insulin drip and she was resting. They did not know when she would be moved to step down. 

Life Updates | March 10th - March 16th

 

Sunday, March 10th

This Sunday was more relaxing, and we did not do much after our quick trip. Honestly, it was a trip we should not have taken but needed. Lil Eve had fun, tho.

Monday, March 11th

Lil Eve returned to school after her fun weekend with all of us. She wasn’t so pleased she had to wait for her bus in the dark after we had to turn the clocks back. She was determined it was still nighttime. 

After returning home, she ran inside to grab a drink and put on her hat to play and see her grandma. Seeing I am my mom’s caretaker, she lives with us. We then ran to the store to grab dinner, Meatballs in Gravy over noodles. She then got to spend some time with her Papa.

Tuesday, March 12th

On Tuesday, we had a visit from my mom’s Home Dialysis nurse to see how we were doing with the manual exchanges of 2.5% Delflex Solution. The home visit went well, and we start training to use the cycler this week

Wednesday, March 13th

Wednesday started out quite rough, with my mama waking in significant pain & a high blood sugar level. We still got Lil Eve on her bus to school. She seemed a bit worried about her Grandma tho. 

At 9:49AM EST, my mama is still in pain with a high blood sugar. We haven’t been able to do an exchange yet today. 

At 10:30AM EST, our training was rescheduled until tomorrow so Mama can rest and hopefully get rid of the pain. 

At around 4:15PM EST, My mom was brought into the hospital by ambulance due to High Blood Sugar, Body Pain, Chest Pain, and Throwing up…

At 5PM EST, I made Lil Eve dinner and will be prepping her for bed. So far, she is doing okay and is pretty calm during the stressful time after she comes home from school. 

Thursday, March 14th

This Thursday, I got Lil Eve off for her last day of this week. With everything going on so far, this morning ran smoothly. My Sibling decided to stay home from work due to yesterday's stress. I was informed last night from the hospital that my mama is being placed in the ICU with her levels abnormal and her within DKA.

Friday, March 15th

I still haven’t heard directly from my mom this Friday nor gotten an update on her condition. I do know she has pneumonia, which is what caused all her issues. 

Saturday, March 16th 

This chilly Saturday has been quite a slow day. Lil Eve fell asleep because she did not sleep well. Her IMH Specialist came while she was sleeping and was updated on what was happening. 

No news yet on when my mom will be released from the hospital, but we’re hoping soon. We were told that they are looking for a Midweek Release due to abnormal test results and her being on Dialysis daily with them pulling off a lot of fluid.
